Ventnor is situated in the south of the Isle of Wight.
Currently the focus of a massive regeneration plan Ventnor is
now home to Ventnor Haven, a new pleasure boat harbour to the
east of Ventnor bay. Ventnor was a sleepy fishing village until
the fashionable Victorian folk discovered it and its mild microclimates,
coupled with its fresh sea air. They even believed it have a curative
effect on respiratory disorders. |
|
| Ventnor still retains its original charm of a small fishing village with
fishing boats not far from the beach, catching fresh crab and lobster. It lacks
the hustle and bustle of other places on the island, remaining tranquil. The Hotel
is situated in Alexandra gardens. Built by the Victorians over a hundred years ago.
The gardens were rumoured to have been built for Queen Victoria's lady's in waiting. | |
